The Journey Begins

Mental health nursing has been a part of my life since 1980. My career has included working in state facilities in New York and Florida and most recently, Veteran Administration Medical Centers in Florida and California. Retirement has taken me away from direct involvement, however, I continue to want to share my experiences and knowledge to others interested in mental health. It is my hope that I will encourage nursing students, and nurse looking to change the focus of their career to consider working with this population. Mental health nursing is often misunderstood as a nursing specialty and I hope to provide clarification. I have two grown sons and one granddaughter. Presently I reside in Florida with three dogs.
